Seiki LC40G81 Review
I purchased this on a local (to me) electronics retailer. I've been with them ready to go for about a week as a master bedroom Television and it is working fantastic. I presently own a good 46" and a 50" plasma televisions, and also a budget 26" LCD for comparison. This Television compares well image and features-wise using the much better sets in this size range, ignoring cost. It's much greater than anything else I've noticed within this price range, regardless of size. The picture could be set wonderful and bright, the screen has an anti-glare sheet that isn't overpowering or affects the seeing angle noticeably. Sound levels are plenty for a bedroom, I've heard it may be weak but mine is acceptable for normal watching at around 25% max.
That being said, the manual that came through it doesn't cover almost almost everything, but if you'll be able to poke around in every one of the settings via the remote you are able to control fine image settings. One wonderful thing it came with would have been a cover for that space within the set left whenever you remove the "stem" protruding on the bottom which will is to the flat base (when wall mounting). Of note - there may be no mention of the way to remove the stem, but there are 5 screws which often have to be removed with the back on the set, all near the bottom from the Tv. You may need a relatively prolonged and skinny screwdriver to acquire out a couple of which.
I installed on the wall with all the VideoSecu Poor Profile Ultra Slim Tv Wall Mount for 26-46" LCD LED Plasma televisions Flat Panel Screen Screen MP145B A11 bought here at Amazon. Of note is always that among the 6-8 various size screws that come having this mount, none fit this particular set. I had some that worked on hand, and simple to receive at a home improvement store, but just FYI should you are after a mount. I didn't use the rubber "spacers" that came while using mount to offset the Tv on the wall, not needed since this set has all inputs pointing down which unfortunately is excellent for wall mounting.
